When I think of a subject I'm interested in, my mind always goes to art of any kind. It's something I find very interesting, and wished I learnt it more. Of course, what I don't like about it is that sometimes the classes don't let you have any freedom, because, government schools follow a curriculum, which I see as absolutely unnecessary, even though I still understand why they must. But that defeats the purpose of art in my opinion.
Art should be something we can pour our hearts into, where you can play a tune you've always wanted to try, draw or paint something you've never done, take photos you've never taken, and the teachers should be there to help with those students to achieve what they want, rather than follow a curriculum every class.
I haven't had much art classes, even when I was in SK, because the teacher would either be absent, busy replacing another class, grounding the class when one person forgot to bring their items, or we're just going to sit quietly and do nothing, so it was boring to say the least. For music class? It's always us playing the recorder, and nothing else. I sometimes purposefully forget mine because it was just that boring. There was no variety.
Now before someone's going to point out "Why don't you do this by yourself? You have a lot of spare time, why not draw/play an instrument yourself?" it's because there's no motivation, and no goal or target.
Maybe the experience I had with these two classes is why I want Art, because I never really had time to enjoy them, since they weren't enjoyable in the first place.
